Douglas E. Martin, M.Photog.,Cr.

Doug Martin began his professional photography career in 1980 specializing in weddings. After opening at his current location in 1985, he began expanding his training in the portrait field by photographing children, high school seniors and families.

Doug Martin was one of the first Certified Professional Photographers in Pennsylvania. He achieved this certification in 1987 through written testing and submission of photographic works which were judged by Masters of Photography at the International Competition level. 

In 1997 Doug received his Master of Photography Degree from the Professional Photographers of America.

In 2001 Doug received his Photographic Craftsman Degree from the Professional Photographers of America

He was the First Portrait Photographer in the South Hills to hold all three degrees.

His photographs have received numerous awards at local, state, regional, national and international competitions. He has had photographs accepted into the prestigious Loan Collection and has been published in the International Magazine "Professional Photographer".

• 1992 - "Dawn of Man" - accepted into International Loan Collection - published in Loan Collection Book.
• 1992 - "Misty Morning" - tied for highest scoring print in Salon Category (91) Ohio Regional Competition.
• 1997 - "Windswept" - highest scoring print in Salon Category (96) Ohio Regional Competition - received Fuji Masterpiece Award at PPA of PA Competition.
• 1997 - "One in Every Crowd" - accepted into International Loan Collection - published in Loan Collection Book.
• 1999 - "One in Every Crowd" - published in Professional Photographer Magazine.
• 1999 - Together with his wife, Marlene, honored with the "PPA National Award" for Meritorious Contributions to Professional Photography .

Doug Martin continues his photographic education by attending meetings, seminars and Professional Photography Schools around the country. He has been an assistant instructor at both Winona International School of Photography and Triangle Institute of Professional Photography.

Doug Martin is Past President of the Triangle Photographers Association, Past President of the Professional Photographers Association of Pennsylvania and is currently Chairman of the Certified Professional Photographers of Pennsylvania. He is a member of Professional Photographers of America, American Society of Photographers, Professional Photographers Association of Pennsylvania, Certified Professional Photographers of Pennsylvania, Triangle Photographers Association and Senior Photographers International.

In 1999 Doug was accepted into the 1999 - 2000 issue of National Register's "Who's Who in Executives and Professionals".
